How To Effortlessly Lose Weight and Keep It Off

I have something pretty embarrassing to share today, but let me give you some background info first:
0S0A0696From the time I was 14-22, I felt like I was spinning my wheels, trying every diet, losing and gaining weight yet never feeling at ease in my body.

Even at my thinnest, I never felt the sense of lightness and freedom I imagined.

I counted calories, did macrobiotic cleanses, and the worst, juice cleanses.

Hello, starvation mode and extreme blood sugar spikes and dips.

The interesting part? I was never overweight, in fact, I was always on the thin side, or at least “athletic” (god, I HATED that word) at my heaviest.

That’s the thing with eating disorders. It doesn’t really matter how small or big you are. It’s the mindset that shackles you.

One of my worst moments?

I was secretly happy about losing weight after spending three days in the hospital after a near-death bike accident.

How EMBARRASSING is that?!

I was psyched about losing 10 pounds from laying in bed in ICU (Intensive Care Unit).

That’s what happens when you latch on to eating disordered thinking. Your mind automatically goes to your body – how you look and whether you’re smaller or bigger today.

It used to be the first thing I thought about when I woke up, and consistently on my mind throughout the day.

Whether you have an eating disorder or not, guiding the mind away from obsessive thinking and old thought and food patterns is kind of like training a hyperactive puppy – it’ll happen, but it takes time and patience.

I felt absolutely imprisoned by food until I developed the system I use today, personally and with my clients. It involves…

  • Learning to naturally crave the right foods for your specific body type – no guilt or mental torment involved. You know when you go back and forth with yourself FOREVER on what you should eat? Yeah, none of that.
  • Rewiring your brain to eat for pleasure and fuel (not one or the other), but never mindlessly or in a numb state.
  • Ditching scientifically-dated, ingrained thinking about calories and diets that’s making you feel stuck in your body, ashamed, and scared of food.

…and this is just a sneak peak, because here’s the secret:

It’s all about you. You’re a highly unique individual, and there is no one way of eating that works for everyone.

That’s where my real expertise lies – guiding you to find the exact foods and lifestyle practices that make you feel slim, light, calm, energized, focused, and HAPPY.

I untangle your individual food and body knot (your mental-emotional matrix) through inquiry, so you can heal on a deep level.

Parallel, I use my bottomless toolbox of practical, specific food guidance to get you feeling your best.

As an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, my proudest client feedback is that they’ve completely changed the way they look at food, diets and weight after working with me.

Yes, my clients lose weight, gain energy, clear up their skin, heal their digestion, get super mentally focused and more, but those are really just positive side effects.

The big transformations I have the honor of witnessing are complete mindset 180°s. People go from stuck on a diet label, number of calories, or goal weight to feeling light and calm, even if a huge platter of dessert is set down right in front of them.

Clients have said…

“I’ve always struggled
with overwhelming sugar cravings. By changing my diet and finding the right foods
to eat, I’m no longer craving sugar or other junk food. This is a monumental change to not have this all-encompassing
daily internal battle of “whether or not I could eat just a little, or
whether or not I deserved something.” The thoughts don’t even cross my mind now
and it’s an incredibly freeing feeling to no longer be imprisoned by sugar.” – Alex

“My body has TRANSFORMED; I’ve stopped tracking my weight because I’ve realized the irrelevancy, but more importantly, I have in a matter of two months shaped my body in the exact way I wanted, down to details like certain body parts looking certain ways…” – Jonna

With her (Lula’s) guidance, I’m at my best weight, look and feel great…” – Angela

  1. Hi Lula, great post – I to have struggled in the past with my weight. I was incredibly unwell a few years back – my body size reduced to about half the person I am today. I was severely underweight but for a mere moment, I thought it was great. I now look back on pictures and cringe. I applaud you for working with others to help them love themselves and their bodies, it’s why I decided to sign up to IIN to become an integrative health coach too, and it’s also the reason I just became a Natural Foods Chef. If we don’t take care of what we have, we won’t be around long enough to enjoy life, friends, travel and food – how awful right? And on the the topic of food, your meals look super moreish, YUM!

    Cheers, Danielle
