A woman messaged me a couple weeks ago asking…

How do I know which foods are right for my body?

I’ve spoken with her a couple times, once over the phone and many times online, and she appears to be…

– Stunningly beautiful
– Objectively very thin
– Successful in her career
– In an amazing relationship
– Blessed with a supportive family

… and she’s messaged me a few times about her intense food and body struggles.

It doesn’t matter what you look like, how much money you make, or how great your relationships are.

You could still struggle with food and body image.

There’s no external marker that will make you happy and put you at peace.

It has to come from inside.

It’s ok to want to lose weight – if it’s coming from a place of self-love – but losing weight will not automatically make your life perfect.

Here’s how I responded to this beautiful reader’s question – with a little bit of elaboration – and how you can start figuring out which foods work for your body…

1. Allow yourself to eat all foods. As long as you don’t have a true allergy, nothing should be completely off limits. This is a huge part of developing self-trust and mastering intuitive eating. Labeling certain foods as “bad” will always keep us in a cycle of restriction and then overeating.

2. Ask your body what she wants at every meal. Take a few breaths, close your eyes, and tune in. Your body will tell you what she would like, and how much.

3. Keep a food journal tracking your energy, mood, mental clarity, bowel movements, and any other symptoms and trends you notice after meals.

Eat the foods that make you feel best. Look for balanced energy, clear focus, and a healthy bathroom experience at least once a day.

This is a very big, very good question – and a complex process I go through with clients – but today’s guidance will give you a great start.

Comment below with any questions that are on your heart today – I love hearing from you, and I am here to support you, whether we work together or not.

It’s my soul purpose.

Much love,
