I’m not obsessed with anything. Not even intuitive eating.
If I’m in a situation where I can’t get the food my body is asking for and I’m hungry, I’m absolutely going to eat.
I enjoy what’s available as much as possible, and then I move on. Light.
Here’s why it’s so important to not obsess over “perfect” eating and routines, even when it comes to intuitive eating and self-care:
Obsession repels.
Obsession takes us out of the present moment.
Obsession can drive away lovers.
Obsession can be scary.
Obsession can be dangerous.
Obsession can divide us from ourselves, and make us want to rebel against ourselves.
When you first start a new way of eating or a new routine, it feels amazing.
Then you grow tired of it and you want to mix it up, aka, eat everything and lay on the couch all day.
Or only eat Japanese food. Bill Murray? Lost In Translation?
Or do the polar opposite of whatever you’ve been doing.
This pattern plays out because we crave polarity.
We crave complexity, novelty, and nuance.
We want to feel something. Something different. Something new.
We’re not meant to be static.
We’re not meant to eat and do the same things every day.
As we evolve and shift, our bodies will desire different foods and different practices to support us.
The key to living in the present, loving your body, and always evolving is embracing your inherent nature.
Embracing the fact that change is necessary.
Desiring new foods and new routines is normal.
It’s safe to switch it up.
You can deeply listen to your body – to your intuition – without becoming obsessed.
It’s ok if you misinterpret your intuition – or straight up ignore it – once in a while.
In this grace we embrace ourselves, our true nature.
This is how we grow.
This is how we love ourselves now while creating space for our next evolution.
Do you beat yourself up when you misinterpret or ignore your intuition?
Take a big breath and let it go.
You can still love yourself now.
You can still receive all your desires in perfect timing.
You didn’t mess it up. It’s not too late.
In this release you restore your connection with your intuition and the next step is clear.
Do you feel obsessed with anything right now?
Share your reflections on this below, I’d love to hear from you.
XO,
Lula
