Trigger warning: Eating disorders.
Up until the age of 16, I felt uncomfortably full after most meals.
I would just keep eating until I literally could not eat anymore.
That was my default.
I was healthy and athletic, and even considered “slim” by most standards.
It didn’t feel like a “real” issue, except for the deep discomfort I felt, especially around my middle.
It was this physical pressure, this fullness that made me want to escape.
To do anything to feel a release.
On Thanksgiving when I was 16, I came up with a brilliant solution to feel more comfortable in my body: Just get rid of the food.
Genius.
Narrator: It was not genius. 100% do not recommend.
I spent the next ~6 years in a vicious cycle of undereating, overeating, binging, purging, and restricting.
I spent hours on LiveJournal, pouring over “thinspo” of girls who were 5’7″ and 100 lbs.
When I got to my (unreasonable) goal weight, through restriction, I was still dissatisfied with my body.
I thought I might never make peace with food.
I’ve been recovered for ~9 years.
Today, I never overeat, undereat, restrict, binge, or purge.
I “just” eat, the thing that used to feel so impossible and ridiculous to me, when I was struggling.
Today, I just eat the food my body is asking for, in the amount that feels good.
I eat a VERY wide variety of food. Nothing is off the table.
After meals, I feel satisfied. At the end of the day, I feel satisfied.
When I wake up, I have a healthy appetite.
I eat pretty regularly throughout the day.
I allow myself to eat more some days, and less others.
I don’t freak out if I’m not hungry at one meal, or if I’m super hungry at another.
This took a lot of trial and error.
A lot of deep inner work and observation of what truly works for me, as well as therapy and coaching.
Today, my intuition is my guiding force, and emotional processing is fundamental.
There’s also a lot of holistic nutrition principles involved in hitting this sweet spot with food.
My deep struggle led me to the work I do now, as an intuitive eating and holistic nutrition coach.
Over the past 10 years, I’ve been supporting women to heal their relationship with their body and food.
Today, I’m SO excited to announce a brand new master class…

Satisfied Master Class
In my private practice I work with women who want to break the diet cycle, develop unconditional self-love and trust, restore their natural metabolism, and feel really good in their bodies.
As a teacher and writer I’ve developed curriculum for the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and written for Mind Body Green, Teen Vogue, and Time Out New York, among other publications.
Based in Costa Rica and originally from New York, in my free time I love to bike the Caribbean coast, explore new cities, try new restaurants, pole dance, and study romance languages.
I’ll leave you with an important final note…
It’s ok to want to look and feel good.
I absolutely honor those who desire to make a shift in their physical body, but I want to be clear that this class is not about healing overeating *just* so you can lose weight.
It’s about healing overeating so you feel clear and aligned.
So you no longer feel like you’re self-sabotaging.
So you have a strong relationship with your body, deep self-trust, and emotional resilience.
Overeating has a huge effect on mental and emotional health, which should always be prioritized over body size.
I celebrate humans of all shapes and sizes, and firmly believe that loving yourself unconditionally, today, lays the foundation for your heartfelt, healthy desires to come to life.
If Satisfied is calling you, I’d love to see you inside the master class!
Warmly,
Lula
