In a world that’s (still) hammering on about 5am morning routines and ice plunges, what would happen if you just took pleasure in all that you are and all that you do, right now, in this moment?
You, the one who loves to wake up early, journal, and meditate.
You, the one who loves to sleep until noon, go to brunch, then get back in bed.
You, the one who’s manifested their every desire to date.
You, the one who’s relishing the in-between – all that you’re learning and desiring.
When you take pleasure, the habitual behaviors that are not actually pleasurable often fall away.
So take pleasure in all that you are and all that you do.
By taking pleasure, contrast is created.
You’re doing the opposite of what wellness culture (at least much of it) has pushed on you.
Rather than pressuring or judging yourself to change, space is created for what wants to emerge and what wants to fall away.
Often, you notice that some of the things you thought were pleasurable were either programmed in early on, or took hold as a form of rebellion, in the face of the 5am ice plungers:
The happy hour that zaps your energy and dulls your focus.
The coffee that leaves you high and then exhausted.
The constant socializing that drains your introverted soul.
You realize these things – or your version of these things – are not actually enjoyable, and they naturally fall away, rather than having to push harder or commit to another “challenge.”
Take pleasure in all that you are and all that you do…
… rather than wondering, constantly, if you should be doing something different, better, or more.
Let your body soften.
Take pleasure, because you are not meant to suffer, and you are not meant to sit in endless personal development workshops.
You are here to take pleasure in your precious human experience, exactly as it is.
Letting it naturally evolve through bliss, and expand through pain.
Letting it be, in stillness, exactly as it is.
Today, just take pleasure, and notice what emerges, and what falls away.
